Announcing the launch of a new special issue, guest edited by Laura S. Levitt and Oren Baruch Stier: https://mavcor.yale.edu/mavcor-journal/volume-9-issue-2-tending-holocaust-objects-interrogating-sacred

In the summer of 2023, Levitt and Stier co-facilitated an interdisciplinary research workshop at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum under the auspices of the Programs on Ethics, Religion, and the Holocaust, a branch of the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies at the USHMM. The workshop, “Interrogating the Sacred: Holocaust Objects and their Care,” brought together with eleven scholars and practitioners from the U.S. and overseas for ten days over a two-week period to learn from each other, conduct and present research, and explore and tour the USHMM collections and exhibitions as well as other sites in Washington, DC. The special issue grows out of that workshop.
