Oren Baruch Stier is Professor of Religious Studies and Director of the Holocaust and Genocide Studies Program in the Steven J. Green School of International & Public Affairs at Florida International University. He is author of two books, Committed to Memory: Cultural Mediations of the Holocaust (2003) and Holocaust Icons: Symbolizing the Shoah in History and Memory (2015) and co-editor of Religion, Violence, Memory, and Place (2006). His research addresses Holocaust testimony, Jewish memory, Holocaust education, and the material and visual culture of the Shoah and its remembrance.
