Phyllis Granoff

Phyllis Granoff teaches classical Indian religions in the Department of Religious Studies. She received her PhD from Harvard University in Sanskrit and Indian Studies and Fine Arts. She has done research on the art and literature of Jainism, Buddhism and Hinduism, in particular on the origins of image worship in the three religions. Her current project is on medieval Jain manuscripts and the intersection of art and text. She also edits the Journal of Indian Philosophy.
