S. Brent Plate

S. Brent Plate is visiting associate professor of religion at Hamilton College and has taught previously at Texas Christian University, the University of Vermont, and the University of Glasgow.  He is author/editor of several books, including most recently, Religion and Film: Cinema and the Re-Creation of the World.  Earlier books include:  Blasphemy: Art that Offends; Walter Benjamin, Religion, and Aesthetics; Representing Religion in World Cinema; and The Religion and Film Reader.  He is co-founder and managing editor of Material Religion: The Journal of Objects, Art, and Belief.
